An old bull African elephant (Loxodonta africana) drinks from a pond in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. When elephants get old and wear out their last set of molars, they can no longer properly chew food. Thus, elderly elephants - like this one - will live out their final days away from their herd, drinking water for sustenance until starvation or predators take their toll.
